Baskin-Robbins® "Ice Cream and Cake" Dances Its Way to World Record

August 3, 2009 — Baskin-Robbins announced the setting of a new Guinness World Record™ for the Largest Cheerleading Dance* set to the tune of the "Ice Cream and Cake" song by the Buckwheat Boyz. To celebrate the launch of its new Ice Cream and Cake Dance Video Contest, Baskin-Robbins organized the Largest Cheerleading Dance, with Mario Lopez of Extra TV and Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA). The online video contest asks Americans to channel their love of Baskin-Robbins and ice cream cake into creative dance videos for a chance to win a $10,000 grand prize.

Baskin-Robbins® Partners with DoSomething.org to Inspire Teen Activism

June 1, 2009 — In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, Baskin-Robbins® and DoSomething.org, a leading not-for-profit organization that encourages teen volunteerism, announced the launch of the I Serve, You Serve campaign, a plan to motivate teens to get involved in their communities. As part of this empowerment campaign, Baskin-Robbins is challenging teens to make a difference this summer by signing up to volunteer at DoSomething.org/Serve. Teens who join DoSomething.org, as well as current active volunteers, are invited to participating U.S. Baskin-Robbins stores to receive a free Vanilla Soft Serve Cone*.

Baskin-Robbins® Offers a Sweet Deal with Its Third Annual 31 Cent Scoop Night Event

April 15, 2009 — Mark your calendars, 31 Cent Scoop Night is back at Baskin-Robbins! America's favorite neighborhood ice cream shop is sweetening the spring season by hosting its third annual 31 Cent Scoop Night celebration on April 29, 2009, from 5 p.m. — 10 p.m. at all stores nationwide. During the event, the iconic ice cream brand is thanking its loyal customers by reducing the price of all 2.5 oz. ice cream scoops to just 31 cents. In this tough economy, customers can enjoy three scoops for less than a dollar! As part of 31 Cent Scoop Night, Baskin-Robbins will make a $100,000 donation to the National Volunteer Fire Council’s (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program, which encourages youth education about the vital, life-saving work done by volunteer emergency services and helps to establish a pipeline of future firefighters to keep our communities safe.

Dunkin' Brands Announces Nigel Travis as New Chief Executive Officer in Succession Planning Move

December 10, 2008 - Dunkin' Brands, the parent company of Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, today announced that Nigel Travis has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Travis, 58, was the President and CEO of Papa John's (NASDAQ: PZZA), a pizza chain with annual system-wide sales of $2.1 billion and more than 3,300 restaurants throughout the U.S. and 29 international markets. Effective January 6, 2009, he will assume the role from Jon Luther, who will remain Executive Chairman of the Board. Luther, 65, joined Dunkin' Brands in January 2003 as Chief Executive Officer and added the role of Chairman in 2006.

Baskin-Robbins Offering Sweet Deals This Fall

September 15, 2008 - In these challenging economic times, Americans are looking for small pleasures, and Baskin-Robbins is the place to find them. This fall, Baskin-Robbins, America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop, is inviting anyone looking for a sweet break to visit its stores nationwide for a Buy One Get One (BOGO) half-off frozen beverage offer. When consumers buy any Baskin-Robbins frozen beverage through Dec. 28, a second beverage is half-price. Additionally, stores will offer two pre-packed quarts of any Baskin-Robbins ice cream flavor for $9 and three quarts for only $12. Along with these great deals, Baskin-Robbins is also featuring special ice cream flavors this fall, including Apple Pie à La Mode and Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

Baskin-Robbins Introduces Limited Edition Presidential Election Flavors

September 3, 2008 - Baskin-Robbins® is polling America’s palate with Flavor Debate '08, a limited edition release of two new presidential election flavors. The two flavor candidates up for debate: Straight Talk Crunch (representing Republican Senator John McCain) and Whirl of Change (representing Democratic Senator Barack Obama). Beginning Sept. 3, Americans can vote for their “flavorite” candidate in any Baskin-Robbins store nationwide or online. Flavor polls will close midnight, Oct. 20. Votes will be tallied and the winner of Flavor Debate '08 will be announced on Oct. 21, possibly providing a taste for which candidate Americans will choose as the next President of the United States in November.

Baskin-Robbins Adds a Cool Cookie Twist to Summer with OREO® Explosion Ice Cream Treats

The sun is out, the weather is warm and Baskin-Robbins® is the place to cool down this summer with the addition of OREO® Explosion ice cream treats. America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop is again teaming up with America’s favorite cookie to expand its popular OREO Explosion menu line-up by welcoming 19 outrageous OREO ice cream products. Baskin-Robbins is also celebrating National Ice Cream Month in July by hosting OREO Ice Cream Lick-A-Thon events across the country on July 17, 2008.

Baskin-Robbins Launches a New Twist — Soft Serve

May 19, 2008 — Baskin-Robbins, America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop, is launching a delicious, new line of smooth and creamy Soft Serve products. The world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops is the only national ice cream chain to offer both Soft Serve and hand scooped ice cream. The new Soft Serve treats will be available beginning in May at more than 1,000 stores in California; New York; Chicago; El Paso, Texas; and Nashville, Tenn.

To help welcome the company’s new addition and to pay tribute to all moms-to-be, Baskin-Robbins is turning “hump day,” as it is traditionally known into “Bump Day” for one day on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. During Bump Day, expectant mothers will receive a free 3 oz. cone of Soft Serve*. Remembering Irvine "Irv" Robbins (1917-2008), Co-Founder of Baskin-Robbins®

May 6, 2008 — Irvine (Irv) Robbins, co-founder of Baskin-Robbins passed away late Monday in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was 90 years old. Robbins, and his brother-in-law Burton (Burt) Baskin, founded the Baskin-Robbins ice cream chain in 1945, which today is the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops with more than 5,800 stores in 34 countries.

According to Srinivas Kumar, Chief Brand Officer — Baskin-Robbins Worldwide, “All of the Baskin-Robbins employees, franchisees and licensees are saddened by the loss of Irv Robbins. Along with his brother-in-law Burt Baskin, Irv was a pioneer in both the ice cream and franchising business and leaves behind a great and enduring legacy.”

Additionally, Baskin-Robbins will again partner with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF), in an effort to extend support to the firefighting community, by donating $100,000 to the organization. Together, Baskin-Robbins and the NFFF will honor 31 firefighters from across the country who have demonstrated exemplary commitment to community service through the newly created America's 31 Firefighting Heroes program.

America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop has again teamed up with America’s favorite candy company, The Hershey Company®, to create cravable ice cream and candy concoctions. Baskin-Robbins is offering 13 candy-infused ice cream treats that will satisfy any candy-lover’s craving. The popular menu line-up has expanded with the introduction of three new YORK® Peppermint Pattie-inspired ice cream offerings and the return of REESE'®S Peanut Butter Cup and HEATH® ice cream treats.
